After the bleakness of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and with two horror comedies a requirement for Hooptober, we decided to try Totally Killer, a film that Prime has been shoving in my face for what feels like years.
Hooptober 11 – The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
October 11th was the 50th anniversary of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, so it made perfect sense to make it the fourth film in our attempt at the Hooptober 11 challenge.
Hooptober 11 – A Nightmare on Elm Street
The first film we watched that was deliberately part of the Hooptober challenge was Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Hooptober 11 – Late Night with the Devil
My second Hooptober film was Late Night with the Devil. Like The Substance, I watched this before knowing about the challenge, but it does give me another country – Australia, so it’s not a total loss.
Hooptober 11 – The Story So Far
Hooptober is a Letterboxd movie challenge created by Cinemonster. The goal is to watch 31 horror films in October, but the catch is that they have to fit the criteria Cinemonster posts. This year that means things like 2 Indian films, 1 film by Wes Craven, 1 film from 1984 and so on.
Hooptober 11 – The Substance
I kicked off the month by going to see Coralie Fargeat’s, The Substance. And it was a wild ride. At one point, somewhere near the end, a guy down the front of the packed theatre shouted out “Oh, come on!”
I think he meant it in a good way.
